There is no single solution to the challenges facing our food systems; what is needed are science-based, systemic strategies implemented through diverse policies and interventions that target every part of the food value chain.
At this COP29 side event, leading academic experts will present the latest scientific evidence and economic arguments for sustainable food systems, drawing on findings from the Food System Economics Commission and NNR2023. They will also outline how EL2.0 will provide critical answers to accelerate the transformative changes needed. Leading policy experts will also contribute by sharing their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in navigating the science-policy interface. The event will further showcase the Nordic region’s leadership in advancing sustainable food systems at the global, regional, and national levels.
